Growing

The kids are growing quickly and busy doing all sorts of stuff.  I've been meaning to get all sorts of posts up, but here are some shots of what we have been doing lately.

O as she is most days.  The girl loves to eat and play but makes a mess of every outfit!

Running around playing Harry Potter with Cooper and using a chopstick for a wand.  This week for the first time she said two words together "Stop it" to Cooper.

Jumping is a skill that Opal mastered a few months ago.  Today she worked out how to jump off the couch and land on her feet!

Cuddling her babies.  To go to sleep we need all three babuska babies, but then depending on the night one or two of the three get thrown out of bed before she can sleep.  If I try to cuddle one of the rejects, she will complain and grab them then throw them out of the bed.

F and her friend Isaac at the Arts festival.
F (at the back) at soccer.  This week she finally kicked the ball and tried to tackle.  She also scored her first goal we think (2 kids kicked at the ball and it then went into the goal). It has been fun to watch her play soccer and just enjoy it without the seriousness and will to win attitude that Cooper always had.

F in her new glasses.  It seems she has her mother's eyesight (or lack there off).  For now she only need to have them on for the classroom and long distance.

Cooper's two self portraits from the end of year Art show.

Baseball season is upon us.  With two  2 hour (plus 30mins warm up) games a week I'm feeling a little baseballed out already.  Cooper is having fun, but has decided that if he has to concentrate on one sport it has to be Soccer.

Freya has wheels

Wow! I am not sure how much is due to different personalities and how much is being a second kid (so I have so much more experience in what not to do), but today Freya rode a bike.  Honestly she has been ready for weeks, but today suited us to take her to a local park with a big stretch for her to try out her peddles.

So on she hopped, we did one lap with me using a pushbar in case she needed help for balance ( as it turned out only to start peddling). Then she was fine by herself.  4 and 3/4 and riding.  She never had training wheels, she has spent the last 6 months using the same bike with no peddles and so learning to balance on it and occasionally riding a tricycle for peddling practice.

To celebrate she decided on lunch at Sheetz (a local fast food joint).  When Cooper learnt to ride (after yelling, fighting and bribery) only 2 years ago we celebrated with ice-cream.  Since I'm obviously getting the hang of this teaching to ride I figure Opal should be riding by 3 (and if personality has anything to do with it she will).

Wow kiddo 2 can ride and will head off to school in September.  Makes me feel old!
